Story 4

The Anne Arundel County Public Schools introduced a new work internship program for their high school STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) students in the summer of 2011. Keystone Research Solutions volunteered to take part. We offered a science research intern opportunity in which the intern would take part in a team research project in variable star astronomy. The purpose of the project would be to analyze previously gathered observations and write a research article to be submitted to a peer reviewed journal. We accepted three interns in the summer of 2011, and five more in the fall of 2011. This opportunity still continues, and we appreciate the chance to offer work experiences to future practitioners.
